NEW! ADULT COLOR THEORY CLASS

Required Materials:
• 1 package of Color-aid Papers size 6" X 9" (for best results) or
4 1/2" X 6" (next best) or 3’ X 5"(better than none)
• Bristol Pad 11" x 14" plate or vellum finish
• Glue stick, pencil, ruler, scissors
• Small Grumbacher Color Wheel
Description: In visual perception color is almost never seen as it really is and is continually evoking innumerable results of readings depending upon what is surrounding it. Color will be explored through exercises that in the end will allow the participant to make one color look as though it were two different colors and two different colors look as though they are the same.
YOUTH BASIC NATURE DRAWING CLASS – Capture the Beautiful Scenes of Spring!
Recommended Ages: 8-14

Cost: $150.00 includes textbook Keeping A Nature Journal
Required Materials: Sketchbook 5×8 or similar, #2 Pencils, Kneaded Eraser, Tin of Watercolors & a brush
Description: Learn some new ways to see the world through different drawing techniques. We’ll experiment with contour and gesture drawing, scale and composition and we’ll practice drawing in three-dimensional objects in space. Some classes will be held outdoors on drawing expeditions with our sketchbooks and watercolors. Our textbook will be Keeping A Nature Journal by Claire Walker Leslie. You may take a look at the textbook for the class when you visit the store.
YOUTH FASHION SKETCHING CLASS
Recommended Ages: 8-14
When:
• Saturday, June 15th 9am-5pm ( 1hr. lunch break)
Cost: $150
Required Materials:
• Paper or sketch book
• Color pencils and eraser
Description: Interested in fashion sketching? Learn to draw fashion figures, clothing and accessories with style and detail. No design or art talent needed, join other fashion enthusiasts and learn to illustrate using design and color techniques along with your own unique sense of style and flair.
VISUAL ART INSTRUCTORS
Karen Harris – Karen is a local artist who taught after-school art for the town of Andover for 15 years. She has worked at the Andover Bookstore for many years. Her artwork is featured over the store’s fireplace and her greeting cards are available in-store.
Elaina Barisano holds a B.F.A in Art Education and a Certificate in Fashion Design. She has years of Fashion Industry and teaching experience in illustrating, designing and making of clothes and presently teaches at The School of Fashion Design in Boston and Lasell College in Newton.
